Meet Chanthou, a mushroom grower harvesting more than income.

“Opportunities don’t happen. You create them.” — Chris Grosser
Ms. Rith Chanthou, a 31-year-old mushroom farmer from Ang Cheung Village, Battambang Province, had long nurtured her own small mushroom farm. But despite her commitment and hard work, the business wasn’t growing the way she hoped. Limited visibility and capital meant that her harvests didn’t always translate into sales.
That changed when she joined the Pasio Program through a loan from Maxima. With financial support and digital marketing knowledge shared by Pasio’s team, Chanthou began to advertise her mushroom products online and promote them through her community. The impact was significant; her customer base expanded, and her business began to gain traction.
With improved financial management skills and more visibility, Chanthou now earns around KHR 120,000 per day, a major milestone that has strengthened both her confidence and her family’s stability. She plans to continue growing the business and dreams of pushing sales even higher with Pasio’s help.
For Chanthou, success isn’t just about profit; it’s about being able to provide, plan, and feel proud of her work. One of her proudest moments? Seeing her customer base grow and her products gain popularity beyond her village.
