Meet Phann Sok, a street food seller finding her recipe for growth.

“You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.” — Zig Ziglar
In the bustling village of Nokor Krau in Siem Reap, 26-year-old Phann Sok is known for her delicious fried snacks and her commitment to making the most with limited resources. Once a worker earning modest wages, she dreamed of running her own food stall but lacked the means to grow.
That changed when she joined the Pasio Program, introduced to her during loan onboarding. With financial support and digital know-how shared by the Pasio team, Phann Sok learned how to market her products better, attract more customers, and manage her business more efficiently.
The impact was immediate. Her small fry shop began to draw more local buyers, and her income increased by around USD 30 per month- a meaningful boost that brought new energy and stability to her household. Most importantly, she now believes in her ability to scale.
She credits Pasio for helping her understand how to build a business with long-term potential. She now dreams of expanding to nearby locations and using content and digital platforms to reach even more customers.
One moment she’s truly proud of? Taking her stall beyond her own village, seeing familiar customers become regulars, and knowing she did it with her own hands and Pasio’s support.
To young entrepreneurs like her, she says: “Start small, but start smart. Use digital platforms; they can take your business places you never imagined.”
Pasio is a global initiative by Gojo & Company in partnership with the Education Above All Foundation (EAA), designed to support young entrepreneurs aged 18 to 35 through income-generating loans, digital tools, and business education. Pasio helps young people, especially in rural and underserved communities to build sustainable livelihoods.
Currently active in India, Sri Lanka, and Cambodia, Pasio is implemented by Gojo Group partners: Prayas Financial Services Pvt Ltd, Sejaya Micro Credit Ltd, and MAXIMA Microfinance. With a strong focus on digital literacy, Pasio aims to create an inclusive ecosystem where young entrepreneurs can thrive, build sustainable livelihoods, and lead positive change in their communities.
